The primary objective of KSP is to land all ten astronauts safely on the Kerbal Space Program space station. While players can choose to play as any one of the five astronauts, they also have the option to play as any of ten different astronaut classes this means that players can design their own personal, personalized space program in which they can fly thousands of miles and through many hazardous situations while gathering valuable data that would help us better understand the moon, space, planets, and our universe in general. The game was inspired by the real-life NASA space program where players are allowed to select one of five astronaut candidates, send them into orbit, and watch their mission through the eyes of the game's artificial intelligence system, which also analyzes and learns from their actions.
